Planters Pointe is a newer community established in 1997 that has a beautiful array of homes with many different styles to choose from. Located off Highway 41, this area is just 15 minutes away from the beaches and restaurants of Sullivan’s Island and only 10 minutes away from the shops and entertainment of Mount Pleasant’s Towne Centre. Within this neighborhood are six different subsections: Smokerise, Cotton Creek, Thornwood, High Marsh, Saltwood, and Indigo Chase. Houses in Smokerise, Cotton Creek, and Thornwood tend to be more moderately priced and sized, while properties in High Marsh, Saltwood, and Indigo Chase are typically larger and more expensive. In addition, several homes in Indigo Chase boast lovely views of the saltwater marsh, and the owners of this subsection are able to join the amenities at nearby Rivertowne Country Club, which includes a private golf course, Olympic-size swimming pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, dining options, and more. For residents of other subsections, or those who opt out of club membership, Planters Pointe has its own neighborhood clubhouse, community swimming pool, tennis courts, a children’s park, and numerous nature paths with views of the water.
